From Jackson:
All the kids are doing fine and becoming bigger, this summer you'll be surprised to see how they are!
On the 1st we had a holiday called the Madaraka Day (day for the workers) and everybody really enjoyed the day, coz it was sunny. We went out with all big kids to the Green Hills hotel for a drink and to swim. The kids really enjoyed it.
As we came home later we found some police officers who were waiting for me in the house with a small girl. The girl is 6 months old, named Sandra and was abandoned by her own mother in the bus station. She is temporarily staying in Upendo. The bigger children like the girl although she cries all day and night, I think she's not yet welcomed by our smaller kids like John and Mary Ann, coz they cry when they see their aunts holding, soothing and feeding the baby. Otherwise we are fine and looking forward to have volunteers. Everybody can't wait to see them.
We received the book "Porta goes to Upendo" and it is really fine. Every body wants to keep it but Bernard is keeping it. It's wonderful to see how it was, also the DVD one wants to watch again and again.

From Tessa:
New volunteers are going to Upendo again after all the trouble in Kenya. All is safe and sound again and I feel happy that we got through this period so well. A lot of good friends and family, and also others donated money so we were never in a tight position, thanks you all so much!!!!!
Last week I met up in Amsterdam with the new volunteers who are going this June, July and August. They are all great girls and I'm very happy volunteers are going back to UCC again. Up from August new volunteers are going as well, so if you are too interested in going, just let me know!
I will see if I can get their blogs on this site as well, and also the blogs of former volunteers. I'm going back in July/August myself, can't wait to see my beautiful kids, to see how they have grown, what they have learned in school and at home, and just to cuddle them!!!!
